We, the Burmese democratic activists belong to various organizations of student, youth, women, ethnic and political parties have assemble at the Jantar Mantar to demonstrate our strong protest on the visit of Burmese military butcher Thein Sein, (un)officially designate to be Prime Minister of SPDC regime of Burma (Myanmar).

We are deeply hurt and disturb by visiting of this notorious SPDC General to democratic India the land of Mahatma Gandhi. In fact these generals had had waging war against its own people ceaselessly. In September last year, they brutally killed Buddhist monks who peacefully

march by chanting Buddha Mantra, ask for peace in the country and national reconciliation. Presently they had imprisonment over two thousand of democratic activists, Buddhist monks, student, youth and women.

In the meantime, their special kangaroo courts held inside the Insein Prison Compound are rushing to complete the court hearing against Burmese democracy activists and Buddhist Monks, who were arrested one year ago during and after the peaceful protests in August and September 2007, and delivering harsh sentences everyday. Family members are not allowed to attend the hearing and not informed by the authorities before and after the sentencing. Three lawyers, who defended these activists, were arrested and imprisoned earlier under the charge of contempt of court and therefore, no defense lawyers were present during the sentencing. On 11 November 2008, 14 Members of the 88 Generation Students were sentenced to 65 Years with hard labor.

We are also denounced junta’s military adventurism confronted with neighboring Bangladesh over the maritime dispute. It was a political gimmick in order to rechristen its grid over the army as they are facing hard task to meet their promise to hold multi-party election by 2010 and they planning to delaying election.

We also would like to note to the leaders of our neighboring counties that our displeasure over socalled constructed engagement policy toward Burma (Myanmar) which we observed only one side with ruling junta, but not the people led by Aung San Suu Kyi. In reality which reinforced junta’s brutal suppression on its innocent people. Even Madam Aung San Suu Kyi spent 14 years in detention in last 20 years and still under detention. We view that there is no stability and no development in the region unless there is stable and democratic government in Burma (Myanmar). Burma under military regime will remain as thorn in flesh in effort of regional leaders’ economic integration and development in the region.
