July 24th: Pre-Olympics Protest on Capitol Hill: Join Us

U.S. Campaign for Burma is co-sponsoring a rally on Capitol Hill (Senate Russell Park) from 12 - 3pm to protest China's unconditional support for Burma's military regime. Leaders of other human rights groups (People for Equality and Relief in Lanka, Reporters Without Borders, Human Rights Action Center, STAND, and Genocide Intervention Network), as well as leaders of the Burmese community and members of Congress will be speaking at the event.As the Olympics approach, we must focus effort on challenging China to end its support for Burma's military regime.

When: July 24th, 12-3pm
Where: Upper Senate Park (Russell Park) (see map here ).

It's on Constiution and Delaware. Closest metro is Union Station.China is the Burmese military regime's single most important ally, supplying billions in weapons, aid, and trade, while shielding the regime from international action by the UN Security Council. Hundreds of people from across the country, from as far away as California and Texas, will attend the rally to urge China to change their policy toward Burma.
