Myanmar Figure Praises Kim Jong Il's Exploits
Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) -- U Than Tun, vice-president of the Union of Myanmar Economic Holdings Limited, issued a statement on April 6 on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

The statement noted that making long journeys for Songun leadership Kim Jong Il has developed the Korean People's Army into an army strong in idea and faith and energetically led all members of the society to live and work with the idea and work style of the revolutionary army. As a result, the great unity of the army and people of the DPRK has grown as strong as a rock, it noted, and continued:

Kim Jong Il's endless field inspection to KPA units served as a main source that helped bolster up the self-reliant defence capability in every way.

It noted that the unprecedented miracles and world-startling successes achieved in the building of a thriving nation are a brilliant fruition of the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The DPRK will be more prosperous as it is holding Kim Jong Il in the van of the revolution, it concluded.
